CHELTENHAM CARNIVAL.
The aquatic carnival to be held at t Cheltenham Beach to-morrow should r attract large numbers of visitors to this r popular beach. The function has been organised by local resident for the pur--0066 of raising funds for providing a aivine structure on the beach and generally fostering seaside sports. Amusements of all kinds will .be provided, including sand designing for chilren, treasure hunt, and all manner of side-shows, while there will be a beauty competition for ladies, snd a series of swimming sports, chiei of which "will he the Auckland swimming championship. A performance by the sea scouts will embrace a demonstration depicting the rescue of thji crew of the l Helen B. Sterling. In the evening the . carnival will be carried on until nearly | midnight with dancne at the jazz cabaret ' in th.o municipal kiosk, while the Darktown Firo Brigade should cause no little amusement. Seaplane flights have been arranged for the day and a free flight is I awaiting the first person locating thfe ] mysterious Mr. Aeroplane on the beach. <
