THEFT OF Arf OVERCOAT..

AGED VAGRANT'S RECORD. The theft of an overcoat valued at £5 was admitted by Henry Baugh, aged 56, who appeared Defore Mr. J. W. Poyjiton, S.M., in the Police Court on Saturday.

Accused had tahen the overcoat from a bedroom and pawned it for 7s. He was fined £10, in default tv/o months' imprisonment. A decrepit old man, William Betts, was charged with vagrancy. The magistrate said'ho had a terrible record, having appeared 131 times before the Court. It would not be fair to the inmates of the Costley Home to send accused there, and he was sentenced to two months' imprisonment. A native of Niue Islandj David Harry, aged- 25, was fined £3, in default 14 days' imprisonment, for using threatening behaviour while drunk in' Customs Street.
