FATALITY AT CROSSING.
MOTOR LORHY WRECKED.
CAMBRIDGE FARMER KILLED WIFE SEVERELY INJURED. [BT TELEGRAPH —OWN COESJXPOSDI.NT.] CAMBFTDGE. Mondiy. A fatal motor accident occurred yesterj day at Cambridge, the victim being Mr Owen John Aiken, of Hamilton. It appears that Mr. Aiken, his wife, and Mrs. Monk, his mother-in-law, were driving in the direction of one of the favourite picnicking spots in the Cambridge district in a motor-lorry, and were negotiating a level railway crossing when a train carae along ami collided with the lorry. The vehicle was wrecked, and Mr. Aiken's body was terribly mutilated. He was taken to Nurse Russel's private hospital, where he received medical attention, but died an hour and a-half later. Mrs. Aiken had her noso and an arm broken and was otherwise severely injurod, but is likely to recover. Mrs. Monk suffered from a number of oruises and a severe shaking. Mr. Aiken was 32 years of age, and was j a farmer resident of Cambridge.
