GULF GUNNERY PRACTICE.

COMMENCEMENT ON TUESDAY.

Gunnery and torpedo practice will be carried out by H.M.S, Chatham and H.M.S. Veronica in the Hauraki Gulf over a period of nine days commencing on Tuesday. The scene of the operations will be the vicinity of Tin Tin and Motuhurakia, and a warning is gfren to merchant vpsfhls to avoid the practice area. About 25 New Zealand naval recruits will be given their first opportunity to engage in practical gunnery on board the Chatham. The boy 6 have been trained on H.M.S. Philomel and as their course is almost completed they will be drafted to the Chatham when she goes out into the gulf on Tuesday.
