RESUMPTION OF SESSION.
THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] WELLINGTON, Friday.
The fact that the Legislative Council stands adjourned until January 10, while the House of Representatives is adjourned until January 11, is not to be taken as an indication that the Council is a more energetic body than tho House. On the last night of tEe session the Council adjourned before the House, and Sir Francis Bell chose for the day of resumption the same day as ie understood the House was to resume upon. It was too late to remedy matters when Mr. Massey announced that the House would adjourn until January 11, so that the Council will meet on January 10, and hear prayers read, but will ao no business until the next day.
