I QUEEN CORONATION.

BAYFIELD SCHOOL./ CEREMONY. The Bayfield School's queen coronation ceremony &nd concert, which was such a success when first presented some months ago, was repeated with even greater success before a large audience in the Town Hall last evening, in aid of the Auckland United Protectant Orphan Homes appeal. The ceremony created a most striking impression with its beautiful dressing, and numerous following. Miss Joan Cramp, the pretty little queen, who was the central figure of the huge array, carried out her roya) duties in a graceful manner, attended by the nine unsuccessful candidates for the honour. During the evening a chorus Was given by a large choir arranged to form a huge St. George's Cross. The knighting of the four members of the carnival committee was an interesting part of the proceedings. The knights included Mr. W. J. Campbell, chairman of the Ponsonby Schools' Committee; Mr. D. Melnnes, headmaster of Bayfield School; Mr. R. Cleghorn, honorary secretary of the carnival • executive; and Mr. R. Angus, honorary business manager. An excellent concert preceded the ceremony. Miss Nonio Wright and 'Miss Phyllis. Mobborley, two clever child reciters, were very popular. Miss Laura Stone. Miss Ailsa Scott, and Messrs. A G. Fogerty and T. B. Rowe, adult performers, rendered much-appreciated songs, while Master F. Poore gave an excellent flute solo. The New Zealand Quartette. (Messrs C. Perfect, F. Adeane, A. Asbury, and W. Stewart) also contributed to the programme. Miss Ethel Sharp was accompanist. \ • .
