ACCOMMODATION SHORTAGE. [Br TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHANGAREI, Thursday. Mr. W. A. Carruth was last night reelected chairman of tBo Whangare? High | School Board of Governors. It was reI ported that 43 boarders had been in residence during the year'and 35 applications had already been received for next year. . The available accommodation was only 40 i The Jlinister for Lands wrote to the board approving of the inclusion in the Reserves Public Bodies Empowering Bill of a c use enabling the Whangarei board to borrow at tho current rate of interest from the Public Trust instead of at 5i per cent, as formerly authorised, a provision anticipating tho expenditure the board may undertake in connection with the extensive property recently acquired for a now high school.
