TENTS AND MARQUEES.

For 69 years the name of E. Le Roy has been connected with the tent making industry in Auckland, and from father to son the business has grown till now the name is well known from end to end of the Dominion. It grew to such an extent that it became necessary either to take in piore capital or reduce the number of lines manufactured. Finally it was decided to let another firm take up the manufacture of clothing for men and animals, also stack covers. This decision, however, affects only the wholesale trade in these lines, and does not affect the retail trade in any line; in fact, such a large stock is carried over of goods manufactured in his own factory that E. Le Roy can supply for quite a long time canvas clothing and horse and cow covers which have been manufactured in his own factory. The manufacture and sale of tent*, marquees, baby swings, hanging cots, flags, verandah blinds, etc., continues, while the capital freed by the slight change in business l has enabled more push to be put into the other lines. The hiring department has been greatly strengthened, while the new premises at 81, Queen Street enable the goods to be displayed to greater advantage. The alight change in business' enabled Dame Rumour to get busy, and the report spread that Le Roy was going out of business. The true position is that E. Le Roy is more firmly in business than ever before, and has more time to devote to hie special lines. Everything good, whether it be a sovereign or a tent, has its imitators, and just as no pne would willingly take a spurious sovereign, so no one' should take anything but the genuine article in the canvsa line. The Le Roy goods satisfy the need, and whether a tent or a baby swing ie wanted, Le Roy can Bupply the best quality article. Those who can remember the tents of 40 years ago will find a vast improvement in the Le Roy hire tents of to-day. The good tent always bears the maker's name, and at agricultural shows, weddings, fetes, and all gatherings of importance, the Le Roy tent will be found.
