CRUICKSHANK, MILLERS, LTD.
The old-established firm of Cruicksfiank, Hiller and Co-, Ltd., Hardware Merchants, Qoeen Street, is one which always receives heavy patronage in the Christmas season. Its retail section, in 292 Queen Street, contains a wide assortment of articles of domestic and culinary use, and a visit to this department will be worth white, for all who wish to replenish their household goods, as well as those who are about to establish a borne. The stocks now in hand also include an excellent range of articles, suitable foi Christmas gifts. Among the latter may be mentioned sets of the glass ovenwsre, which has so thoroughly established itoeli in popular favour. Dishes of all sizes maj be obtained at a moderate price, and nothing could, make a more acceptable Christ mas gift than a set of these useful and attractive articles. Also included in the gift category are the fitted picnic-bampett which this firm is showing. One in parti cula-r is worthy of mention, contiuninj plated sandwich boxes, two thermos flasks plates, cups, knives, and forks—everythmj that could he desired for an al freed lunch.' Another useful and attractive line now showing is the British aluminium ware, which includes a number of high quality articles, at very moderate prices, the iind of thing it was impossible to obtain in New Zealand a year or two ago, but without which no modern kitchen is complete. Then there is an excellent window display of plated ware, an ever-acceptable present, stainless cutlery, sets of fruit and fish knives, and a fine, assortment" of useful aid attentive articles of various kinds. The kitchen ware section comprises practically, every imaginable article'; from a corkscrew tit an ice-cream freezer. Pots and pans galore, cooking utensils bf every kind, all the little accessories which every good housewife likes to find in'her kitchen, brooms, carpet-sweepers, choppers, miucers, egg-beaters, ilcur-siuers, baking tins, pastecutters— thew are only & few of the wide range of articles which a visit to Cruickshank arid Millers discloses. Upstairs is the newly-opened sports department., which promises to become one of the moot important under the direction oi the firm. It contains a full stock of tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf accessories, also sets of bowls. A feature of - the sports department, which 'will undoubtedly gain much popularity, is the golf net, where amateurs may practice their " shots" free of charge. Every beginner knows bow awkward it is to try and practice in the confines of a narrow backyard, while it is not possib'e for them always to got out to the links.
