NEW BRITISH PARTY.
PROJECTED BY PREMIER. ' j ; ' TO BE LAUNCHED NEXT MONTH COALITION AS BASIS. By Telegraph-Press AesodaHon-Copyright. United Service. LONDON. Dec 10. Apparently on good authority the Pall Mall Gazette announces that the Prime Minister, taking opportunity, of the occasion afforded by the Irish settlement, .has decided to form a General National Party, composed of Conservatives, Unionists, and Coalition-Liberals. He will formulate an Imperial National Democratic policy and a great, party conference will be held in the Central Hall, Westminster, on January 2. Mr. Cfturchill, Mr. Chamberlain, and Lord Birkenhead wholeheartedly support the proposal. The Pall Mall Gazette also states that it is proposed that Mr. Arthur 1 Balfour and Sir Hamar Greenwood be given peerages, Sir Gordon Hewart high legal promotion, and Mr. Edward Shortt a judgeship.- Members will be sounded probably at next week's meeting of Parliament. Very pousibly there will be Liberal accessions te the party, but the Labour Party will not be affected.
