THE LONSDALE BELTS.
POSITION OF COLONIALS^ A. and N.Z. LONDON, Dec. 4. In a, letter to Sporting Life, Mr. Lucas expresses the opinion that Lonsdale belts for an Empire championship would be impossible. The belts should be open to a colonial who has been resident in Britain for three or six months, but the winning colonial must drop the title when he leaves the country. This would prevent the title from going astray. The plan had worked well in Australia. The talk of an Empire championship, he said, would lead to trouble, because it could be fought for in any part of the Empire.
