HALF-MILLION LOAN.
MONEY FULLY SUBSCRIBED. FLOTATION COSTS LOW. [BT TELEGHAPH.—SPECIAL REPORTER.] WELLIN3FON, Ma.daj. Asked by the Hon. J. A. Hanan (Invercargill) what? success, the Government had met with in the raising of its recent half-million loan, the Prime' Minister stated that be had not the full particulars at hSmd. Ho could say, however, that all the loan was subscribed. There .was no difficulty about it. He did not think it had even been placed on the market. The issue price was £99, and the cost of placing the loan would be very small so far ag he was able to judge. As soon as he received the information from the High Commissioner he would be prepared to give the details. The rate of interest was 6 per cent. An Hon. Member: What was the rate? Mr. M^asby: Six per cent. Mr. Hman: You did very well.
