METHODIST CONFERENCE.
BRITISH REPRESENTATIVE. Information has-been received from the president of the British Wesley an Methodist Church that the R « v - Dr. Stafford, who had been appointed representative to the New Zealand Methodist Centenary Conference'to be held in-Auck-land nest February, is unable to attend, The Rev. Grainger 'Hargreaves has been appointed in his place. Mr. Hargreaves entered the ministry in 1878.' and for the first. 15 years was a missionary in China. Darin); his residence .there he visited Australia and New Zealand. On his return to England he became one of the, most prominent mem-' bers of the British Wesleyan Conference and has\been chairman of the Oxford district for the last 16 years. He is known as an able speaker and an interesting personality witn a wide experience of life in'momy lands.' His', visit.will 'be cordially welcomed by the New Zealand Methodist: Church. '
