Dec 1 McConachy, the New Zealand billiard champion, was in wonderful form to-daj when playing in his match of 8000 up against Dennis. He displayed perfect control of the ivory balls and made the greatest break of his tour, 614, which elicited an ovation. The scores at the close of play were: — Dennis (rec. *2000) « . ~ 5604 McConachy (scr.) .. .. 5337 McConachy's score at the close of play on Wednesday was 4002, not 4786, as first cabled.
