CHEAP GERMAN CLOTHES.

♦ HOW WOMEN EVADE DUTY. QUICK CHANGES ON FRONTIER. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 12.5 a.m.) LONDON, Dec 1. The Berlin correspondent of the Daily Express reports that thousands of women living on the frontier are daily passing into Germany wearing old clothes. When they have passed the frontier they buy with cheap marks entire new outfits, which they don before returning, thereby evading the payment of duty. The Swiss authorities have now decided that every penson on passing the frontier must have every article of clothing stamped with an official seal. Even the most intimate articles of attire will not escape registration.
