FETES AND SALES OF WORK.
A garden fete will be opened this after- - noon by the Mayor, Mr. J. H. Gunson, ," at Mrs. Pearson's residence, " Waikoua- : iti," Victoria Avenue, Rerauera, in aid of ' the building fund of St. James' Free J Kindergarten. Numerous attractions havo been provided, including dances by Miss ' Daphne Knight's pupils. Musical selections will be played by the Watersiders' Silver . Band. , A Christmas fair will be hold in St. . Mary's Cathedral hall, Parnell, next ■ Thursday and Friday, in aid of the Sun- , day School building fund. Every effort . is being made to cater for the amuse- • ment of the large attendances expected, " and special attractions for children are i being arranged for next Saturday after- • noon. ; The annual Christmas tree and 6ale of work in connection with St. Paul's Church • will be held in the parish hall next Friday ; and Saturday, A novelty in the musical s side of the function wilf be an example of community singing.
