A RUDE AWAKENING.
MOTORIST BENEATH CAR.
FAMILY IN THE HOSPITAL. [BY TELEGRAM!.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Thursday.
At the Polico Court to-day, A. Simpson failed to appear on a charge of driving a vebiclo while intoxicated.
The police stated that his motor-car capsized over a bank. Fortunately, it was held up by a gas main which is supported on trestles. When a constable arrived on tho sceno ho found Simpson fast asleep under the car. On being awakenod, the man said his wifo and child were in the car, but it was found they were being treated at the hospital for shock. Simpson was taken to tho police station, and was bailed out this morning. Tho sergeant of polico said such offenders raenaco to themselves and others. Severe measures should be taken. A fine of £5 and costs was imposed.
