N.S.W. MINISTRY.

SAVED BY TWO VOTES.

CENSURE MOTION DEFEATED A. and NJZ. SYDNEY, Sept. 23. In the Legislative Assembly, the censure motion was defeated by 42 votes to 40. Mr. Gardiner (Independent) voted with the Government. There was an exciting incident when the division was being taken on a "'' gag" motion. A Labour member, Mr. O'Halloran, arrived late, and crawled under the bar. This provoked the resentment of the Opposition, and Sir George Fuller threatened to cancel his pair with the Premier, Mr. John Storey, who is ill. Each party then numbered 40. The Speaker ultimately solved the difficulty by ordering a fresh division, the Government meanwhile gathering two more supporters.
