Tbe tone of the Auckland sharemarket was good again yesterday. In Government stocks business was done* in War Loans, 1858, Soldiers' Loan (bonds) and New Zealand Inscribed Stock, !1938 ijcd • 1939, ajl at about recent rates. &» banks New Zealand* sold at 60s, several parcels changing hands, with late at 50s 3d, and buyers at 49s 9d. New Sottth Wales were wanted at £33 15b, : no sel- • lers quoting. For Union of Australia £12 7s was offered, sellers holding for £12 10s. In insurances New Zealands had sale at 29s 3d, more being looked for at 28s 9d, sellers 29s 6d. For South British tnere were offers of 35s 9d, sellers 365. In gas Aucklands (con.) were done at 26». In miscellaneous lines there were no transactions. In mining Waihis sold at 225, sellers closing at that price, buyers 21s 9d.
