CLERICAL INFLUENCE FEARED Australian and N.Z. Cabin Association. (Reed. 8.30 p.m.) BRUSSELS, Sept. 21. The Belgian Senate by 69 votes to 44 passed a Bill granting the suffrage to women in provincial elections. The Chamber of Deputies is opposed to the Bill, and conflict, betweeu tho two Houses has lasted for weeks. The only way out seems to be a dissolution of Parliament. Curiously the Conservatives are the ehief supporters of votes fofr women. Liberals and Socialists are opposed, declaring that the Roman Catholics are trying to regain a majority by means of the influence of priests over women.
