With the full concurrence of the Government of India, the Bombay Government announces its decision to prosecute the All brothers, the Moslem leaders of the non-co-operation movement, and others in connection with resolutions and speeches at Karachi, and for tampering with the loyalty of troops. The Bombay Government is also prosecuting the Ali brothers for speeches delivered in July tending to create disaffection and inciting to violence against the established Government. There has been increased rebel activity and frequent skirmishes with troops in Malabar, especially in the Manerj.i and Nilambar districts. There are well-armed rebel bands over 1000 strong in Nilambar, which is completely in the hands of the rebels. They conduct raids from a stronghold in the Pandaur hills, wrecking villages, bridges, and Government buildings. \ A Moplah conference proclaimed a jehad against all Hindus, who are to be converted to Islam at the point of the sword. Hindus are fleeing in panic. The high priest of the Moplafos died in prison a hunger strike. A Malabar communique states that military columns are still operating in some disturbed districts. The* rebels sniped troops after they had passed through some villages. It is reported that a police sub-inspector and two constables were murdered at Yatekara, and also that all Government buildings at Nilambur were burned. The bridge between Mambad and Nilambur was destroyed.
