AVONDALE DRAINAGE.
MAIN SEWER TO BE LAID.
HEALTH BOARD INSTRUCTION
LOAN OF £18,000 NECESSARY.
The Board of Health had decided to require the Avondale Road Board, in terms' of section 22 of the Health Act, 1920, to instal a main drain through the district. In a letter on the subject received at last week's meeting of the board, the Minister for . Public Health stated that the preparation of the legal requisition required by the Act had been delayed owing to a lack of particulars enabling the work to be correctly described, but as soon as these details were received the necessary requisition will be issued in proper form. There was no reason, however, why the board should not proceed with the preliminary arrangements it might desire to make. The chairman, Mr. W. J. Tait, gave notice that at the next meeting he would move that a special meeting be called to pass a resolution authorising the raising of a loan" of £18,000 to instal a main sewer in terms of the section of the Act referred to.
