GOVERNOR-GENERAL.

AUSTRALIAN VISIT MOOTED. A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE, Sept. 16. Sir Joseph Cook, replying to a suggestion that Lord Jellicoe may visit Australia, said that he would be a very welcome guest. Sir Joseph hoped that if he came Mr. Massey would accompany him. The Governor-General, Lord Forster, explained that the suggestion that Lord Jellicoe might visit Australia probably emanated from an invitation he extended to the Governor-General of New Zealand to sail his boat in the Australian regattas.
