LOCAL BODIES' FINANCE.
SEVERAL LOANS AUTHORISED. [by telegraph.—press association.] WELLINGTON, Friday. Consent has been given to raising the following local body loans Hutt County Council (water supply, Paekakaiiii), £6000 Thames Harbour Board (whwf at Tmua), £6000; Kairanga County Council (widening and metalling, £3000); Levin Borough Council (workers* dwellings), £1000. Maximum rates of interest for local body loans are prescribed as under —Seven per cent • Auckland Harbour Board, £25,000 to be borrowed beyond New Zealand for harbour works. Six per cent. : Raglan County Council, £1200 for road construction, plant, and machinery; Invercargiil Borough Council, £1300 for sewerage worko; Tunaru Borough Council, £5000 for electric light and power works.
