STATIONERY FOR SCHOOLS.
PRESENT SYSTEM UPHELD. The present system of supplying station-
ery to school committees so that it could be sold to children at cost price was upheld by the Chrißtchurch School Committees' Association at its last meeting.
Mr. T. Haberfield, the chairman, explained that of late representations had been made by stationers to have the system abolished and to stop education boards from supplying stationery at cheaper ra.tos. The association was asked by the Federated School Committees' Association to pass a resolution on the matter.
It was resolved that the delegates to the annual conference of the Federated School Committees' Association be instructed to support the principle of supplying stationery at the lowest possible cost, and thus strengthen the hands of education boards.
