IDENTITY OF WRECKAGE.

PROBABLY AMERICAN SHIP.

[BY TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NEW PLYMOUTH. Monday. The Collector of Customs has received a report on the wreckage recently found near Awakino. The report says the wreckage is apparently part of a comparatively new American-built ship of 800 to 1000 tons. The timbers are of Baltic and Oregon pine, and the fastenings of Canadian elm. Evidently the wreckage had not been long in the water.
