i ; & WRECKED ON OREGON COAST. VESSEL A TOTAL LOSS. A. and N.Z. VANCOUVER. Aug. 3. Ihe Canadian Government steamer Canadian Exporter has been wrecked off the coast, of Oregon. Her kuk was broken, and she is a total loss. The ves- | sel was valued at £300.000. The Canadian Kxporter was a steel 'screw steamer belonging to the Cau;idi,iu i Government's merchant marine fleet. She | was built in ]920 by J. Coughlan and ; Sons, of Vancouver. and was f) f 5500 tons gross register. Her dimensions were: Lermth 400 ft., breadth 52ft., and depth 1 28ft. 6in. i The Canadian Exporter was at A tick- : land last April at the time of tho maritime trouble. She later proceeded to i Wellington, and sailed from that. port. ! for Australia on April 20. She left Port Kembla finally for Vancouver on May 19. She left the Canadian port for the Pacific roast to load a cargo of timber, and vas due to snil for Japan at. the end of Inst 1 month. Captain W. Bradley was in charge of the vessel.
