METEOROLOGICAL.
TO-DAY'S FORECAST. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last night as follows. —Present indications axe for easterly winds strong to gale northward of Kawhia and Gisborne, moderate to strong south-easterly winds, backing to northerlies, and then increasing elsewhere. Cloudy and unsettled weather is likely to prevail, with rain following generally and heavy rain soon in Northern districts. The barometer will fal] everywhere. MR. WRAGGE'S FORECAST. The following weather forecast was supplied to us by Mr. Clement L. Wragge, at 7.30 last evening:—Pressure is now relaxing and a new Antarctic depression named Dem6ned is approaching from the west. ITiis state of matters means increasing haziness and cloudiness generally, with a renewal of rainy and unsettled conditions before very long. Eastern districts, between East Cape, Castlepoint, and Tnnara ihouid be affected later. Winds betweeu north-east and north-north-west, veering westerly. Rising seas along west coast..
