REV. J.' K. ARCHER'S CLAIM. JURY AWARDS £50 DAMAGES. [BY TBLEGBAPH. —PBESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Tuesday. In the Ebel action the Rev. J. K. Arches versns the New Zealand Times, in which the plaintiff claimed £1500 damages, the jury found that the statements in the leading article to the effect that the plaintiff was a revolutionary communist were defamatory, while the balance of the editorial was fair comment on the statements made by the chancellor of the New Zealand University, Sir Robert Stout. \ The plaintiff was awarded £50 damages and costs on the lowest scale.
