NORTHCOTE BOROUGH.

The Northcote Borough Council met last evening. l There were present. The Mayor, Mr. W. E. Richardson. Messrs. J. B. Tonar A. Parrish. A. Hurley. O. R. Brinsden W H. Barnes. A. W. Smith. K. Smith, W c' Smith, and W. K. A. Stewart. The Mayor welcomed the members of the council. The waterworks engineer reported' that during May 1,920,000 gallons of water had been supplied to Takapuna Borough, and ; 1,248,000 gallons used in Northcote. The level of Lake Takapuna was Bft. lin. above sea level at the end of the month. It was decided to repair Valley Road foot- ■ path for the convenience of school children using thie as a " short cut " from Birkeni head.
