FAREWELL TO MR. JENNINGS.
SMOKE SOCIAL ARRANGER. A meeting for the purpose of making arrangements for tendering a. farewell tp Mr. W. ■T. Jennings; M.P., was " held in the Chamber of Commerce last evening. Dr. T. W. Leys presided. It was decided to hold a smoke social to-morrow evening. A committee, comprising the chairman, Messrs. T. Buchanan, A. Nixon, W. F. Jones, R. Wade, E. Phelan, D. Flynn, T. Foley, E. Martin, and N. J. Shealian (hon.~- was appointed to carry out the details. It is proposed to present Mr. Jennings with a testimonial and an enlarged oil painting of himself, a from Mr. E. Phelan. Mr. Jennings" ia to arrive at Onehunga by steamer to-mor-row morning returning on Thursday. He will leave Wellington for Europe, where he is to visit the graves of his two sons who were killed in the war.
