NAVAL SEAMAN'S DEATH.

FALL OVER BANNISTER. An inquest was held by Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., on Saturday, concerning the death of able seaman. Leonard Tainliiii a member of the crew of HM S Chatham, who fell over the bannister in the Market Hotel on Friday afternoon Evidence was given to the effect that lanilm was a native of Cornwall, England, and was 25 years of age. He served on destroyers during the war. On Friday afternoon he was seen bv another seaman to slide down the hotel"bannister and overbalance. A verdict was returned that death was caused by fracture of the skull and laceration of the brain, resulting from an accidental fall down a staircase.
