FARMER MISSING.

[BT TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] THAMES, Sunday. Considerable anxiety is felt here by the friends of Mr. William Bird from the fact that he has been missing since April 23. The missing man is a well-known old resident, about 45 years of age, and was the' owner and prospector of the Evening Star claim, Waiotahi Creek. After the claian was floated into a company he acquired a farm at Miranda, where he has since been residing. He was at Thames on April 23. and left that evening by launch to return home. He landed at Shelly Beach, where he had left his horse, and nothing has been heard or seen of him since. Search parties are now out.
