THE ALLIES' ULTIMATUM.

Herr Stresemann declined to form a Ministry, and General Schwandiger, a former Governor of Alsace-Lorraine, agreed to form a Cabinet from which, it is reported, Socialists will be excluded. Times. LONDON, May 6 The Fehrenbach Cabinet has received the Allies' ultimatum, which it is the task of its successors to answer. The new Ministry will be composed on a party basis similar to the old. It will have to decide either yes or no before coming into office. The situation is urgent, and the general opinion is that the Government will assent to the commands in the ultimatum.
The final collapse of the Ministry was unmistakably due to lack of confidence in Dr. von Simons, Foreign Minister, and general mistrust resulting from the disturbances m Silesia. OPPOSITION TO DEMANDS. INDUSTRIAL ORGANS' VIEW. Australian and N.Z. Cablr Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 7.
The Berlin correspondent of the Daily Chronicle states tnat the newspapers controlled by industrial magnates are directing their strongest complaints, not against the financial clauses of the Allies' ultimatum, but against those relating to disarmament and war criminals.
