N.Z. FIELD AMBULANCE.

REUNION OF MEMBERS.

A reunion of members of No. 3 New Zealand Field Ambulance was held at the Auckland Officers' Club on Saturday evening, Colonel J. Hardie Neil, officer commanding the unit, presiding over a large attendance, including visitors from various parts of the Dominion. In proposing the toast of " The Old Brigade " the chairman said one of the most important lessons of the war was the necessity for having a medical service commensurate with the combatant force. The unfortunate experiences on Gallipoli, as detailed to the commission, should never be allowed by the New, Zealand public to be repeated, and if, as .stated by the Tunes, the New Zealand medical arrangements for the Bapaume battle were perfect, the experiences in organisation gained by the heads of the medical, department should not be allowed to become lost.

Other toasts were: "Absent Comrades," proposed by Sergeant J. Doull; " Quartermaster Department," proposed by Sergeant-Major Reeves and responded to by Captain E. M. Finlayson; " Allied Units," proposed by Captain A. McGregor Grant and responded to by Colonel D. N. W. Murray and Colonel R. H. Walton. Colonel Murray referred to the harmony that existed between the ambulances of the division, and said that although there was rivalry it only helped toward an efficiency in assisting to win the war. On behalf of the unit the chairman made presentations to Captain Finlayson and Sergeant-Major A. Roberts, D.C.M., M.M. Musical items were given during the evening by Sergeants W. E. McKinlay and Stanley Pritchard, Messrs. GWarren, V. Elliott, Ross, and L. Walton.
