TAURANGA FIRE BOARD.

The quarterly meetiirfg of the Tauranga Fire Board -was held this week. Captain T. T. Hu"o, inspector of brigades, reported having inspected the fire brigade B nd various drills with the newly-acquired motor-reel were carried out in a satisfactory manner, v He said the board should give attention to the installation of a street fire alarm system, and pointed out that in no distant future more ground will be required for station extension purposes. The executive committee was authorised to go into the question of acquiring land and report to the next meeting. The superintendent's report for the past quarter showed that a five-roomed house had been destroyed. The UnderSecretary of the Department of Internal Affairs notified that the election bv insurance companies of three members of the Fire Board will be held on May 16. This meeting was the last of tho board as at present constituted.
