I The Prime Minister frill leave for Auckland to-morrow evening to join the mail steamer Niagara, which is to take him tr. ; Vancouver on his way to the Imperial ' Conference in London. He will be accorn- ! panied by Mrs. Massey and Miss Massey and his private secretary, Mr. F. D. | Thomson. Some of the members of the Ministry, ; including the Hon. D. H. Guthrie, the ! Hon. C. J. Parr, the Hon. W. N'os- ; worthy, and the Hon. J. G. Coates. have I arranged to accompany the Prime Minis- • ter to Auckland. Mr. Nosworthy has arranged to visit, ' the Waikato district on his way bark to i Wellington. He will return here about, | Thursday nest. Mr. Coates will pav a, ! visit to bis own electorate before he returns to Wellington. | The allocation of the portfolio held rrv ; Mr. Massey was announced to-day on t,he lines already foreshadowed. During Mr. | Massey's absence Sir Francis Bell will he ; Acting-Prime Minister and Minister for Finance ; Mr. Guthrie will b« Minister for Railways, Mr. Anderson will be Minister for Mines, and Mr. Nbsworthy win be Minister in Charge of Imperial Supplies.
FAEMEBS' UNION TRIBUTE.
APPRECIATION OF HIS WORK. The impending visit of the Prime Minister, Mr. W. F. Massey, to Britain, was referred to at the monthly meeting r,{ the provincial executive of the Fanners' Union yesterday. Mr. L. H., "McAlpine moved—" That the executive express pleasure at the fact that Mr. Massey is to attend the Imperial Conference, and records its appreciation of what he has done for th» farming community in the past; also that it extend to him its best wishes for a. pleasant trip, which it is hoped will prove beneficial to the whole Dominion. " . The motion was seconded by Mr. C. K. Wilson, and carried unanimously. The chairman, Mr. C. A. Ross, was appointed to represent the executive at the "At Home" to be tendered to Mr Massy to-morrow by ithe Mayor and Mayoress.
A Mayoral "At Home" to the Prime Minister and Mrs. Massey will be held to-morrow evening, on the eve of their departure for Britain.
