FIVE MEMBERS RE-ELECTED.
RURAL AND SUBURBAN SEATS
TWO CONTESTS TO BE HELD. I Nominations have now closed for the representation of all the country and ! suburban districts on the Avkhmd Har- I bour Board. Five of the sitting members have been re-elected unopposed, and elections will have to be held in two of the outlying districts, which leaves six city representatives, including those of payers of dues, to be elected and one Government nominee to be appointed. The following members have been reelected unopposed :— Mount Eden, Mount Albert, Mount Roskill, and Avondale—Mr. T. B. (Jlay. Franklin and Manukau—Mr. H. It. Mackenzie. Newmarket, Onehunga, and surrounding districts—Mr. M. H. Wynyard. Raglan, Waikato, and Hamilton —Mr. J. 8. Bond. Waipa and Cambridge—Mr. J. B. Teasdale. The suburban seats to he contested, with the candidates, are :— Waitemata and Takapuna—Messrs. H. H. Adams (sitting member), and W. Blomfield. Devonport, Northcote, and Birkenhead —Messrs. John Henderson and A. E. Greenslade. The sitting member is Mr. W. Wallace, «ho, not now being resident at the North Shore, has decided not to contest the seat. The nominations for three city seats close' on Monday, and for the three representatives of payers of dues ou Wednesday. The Northcote Borough Council last evening unanimously decided to support the candidature of the Mayor, Mr. A. E. Greenslade,, for the Auckland Harbour Board, and that of the Mayor of Birkenhead. Mr. J. P. McPhail, for the Hospital ' Board.
