With reference to the suggestion made by Mount Lyell miners that the wages question be referred to the Arbitration Court, the management points out that the Court has laid down the fundamental principle that it is better to abandon an enterprise which cannot be continued •vithout reducing the basic wage. Consequently, the management has asked the unions to meet it, with the object of astisting to formulate a satisfactory agreement.
