OPERATIONS IN DOMINION.

FIFTEEN PILOTS EMPLOYED. [BT TELLEGRATH. —OWK CORRESPON'DENT.] I WELLINGTON. Monday. A return of civil aviation for the year ! ended March 31 last has been compiled i by the Air Board. It shows a total of ' 2611 hours flown and a machine mileage of 158,757 miles. The number of passengers carried was 6354. There are now four flying companies operating, and 15 pilots are continuously ! engaged. The machines in the Dominion j include 36 aeroplanes, four seaplanes, and j three flying boats.

The machine mileages of the four companies were as follows:—New Zealand Flying School (Auckland), 117,136; Canterbury Aviation Company, 29,647; New Zealand Aero Transport Company, 11,519; New Zealand Aerial Transport Company, 455. The two companies last named commenced operations within recent months.
