WAIHI GRAND JUNCTION. £9851 FROM 5780 TONS. The Wailii Grand Junction Goldminins Co., during the period ended March 19 last, crushed and treated 5750 tons, for a return of 20390z. of gold, and 83540z. of silver. Taking the gold at the. British mint value of £4 5s per ox., this works out at £566."> 15s, while, basing the silver on the latest price quoted for that metal in London, namely, 2a 94d per or., the vain© of this portion of the return is £1166 Is 7d. The total estimated value of the return is, therefore. £9831 16s 7d. Compared with the return for the corresponding period of last year, when 2880 tons vielded £5843. this shows an increase of £3SSB 16s 7d. The total amount won from the mine to date is £1.986,643 13s Sd. The following information has been cabled to tee head office of the company in Londoii: —- No. 5 level. Mary Lode: No. 8 white a: 570 ft. cast is down 14ft. The value at sft. down is 12s 5d per ton. for a width of 60 inches. The walls are not exposed- No. 6 leve!. Mary Lode: The lode has been broken out. and stoping timbers erected from 730 ft. oaa'» to 830 ft. east. Assays averaged £1 Os 5d a ton for a width of 84 inches. The -walls are exposed. No. 8 level: A lode has been ; cut in. the Empire, 210 f- east crosscut, at I 51ft. north of the hangingwall branch lode. The drive east was advanced 54ft., total 66ft. Assays from lift, to 63ft. east averaged fl 183 9d a ton for t width of 59 inches. The north wall is exposed. Empire Lode: No. S wraze was advanced 23ft., total 70»ft. Assays from 46ft. to 65ft. averaged £1 4s*r,d a ton. for a width of 42 inches. The walis are not exposed MTNTE HANAGEES' BEPGETS. PICKED STONE AT PINAFORE. Pinafore.—Two men havo been, employee, stripping the reef in the winse. A sm*l! portion was broken down, and about lOlb of picked stone secured.
