BANNED BOOKS.

Sir.—Notwithstanding the recent prosecutions in different centres throughout N'ew Zealand for importing banned books, ihe extremists and these who would endeavour to disrupt our Empire and set class against class, are evidently not dismayed, for only last week an individual railed at mv house, who stated he was canvassing for the sale of books, and offered me copies of Bed Europe and the Communist Programme of World Revolution, and other apparently seditious and revolutionary works. I endeavoured to obtain his name and address, but was unable to acquire the information. An incident of this kind shows the great necessity of greater police vigilance to apprehend the distributors of seditious publications and prevent the importation of revolutionary books, which at this crucial time in oar history, will have a very prejudicial effect upon the mir.ds of the general public. IMPERIALIST.
