EARTHQUAKES IN CHINA
HAVOC IN NORTH WEST.
DEATH-ROLL REACHES 25,000. A. and N.Z. SHANGHAI, March 4.
Reports from the Kansn and Shensi provinces of North-western China state that large areas in both those provinces have experienced violent earthquakes, Which have occurred daily for a full month.
Enormous damage has been caused to towns and villages in the affected area, and thousands of dwellings and other buildings have been completely destroyed. The falling buildings killed many of those within them, and in the last few days of the disturbances 12,000 were killed, bringing the total death-roll up to 25,000 in 30 days.
