HOT WATER FOR SCHOOLS

INSTALLATION OF PLANTS.

BOARD APPROVES SCHEME.

A committee appointed to consider the question of the installation of hot water in the schools reported to the Education Board yesterday. It was ascertained, stated the committee, that the cost of the purchase and installation of a 16-gallon gas. copper complete would be approximately £23. The committee considered that on hygienic grounds it would be a great advantage to have these coppera installed in the larger schools, but was of opinion that the necessary funds should be provided by the department. It recommended that application be made to the department for a grant to cover the cost of installing coppers in about 20 of the schools in the urban area. This report was adopted by the board.
