Charged with failing to clear has 1 and at Ruakura of rabbits, Richard Kcsno (Mr. MacDiarmid) appeared in the Polios Gt*urt before Mr. H. A. Young, &M.; today. Inspector Morris, of the 7 Agricultural Department, stated that defendant had 233 acres, which were badly infested with rabbits. A notice was first issued last May, and, although ethers bad been sent since then, nothing had baen done in the way of poisoning. Counsel said the defendant gave the notice to his solicitor in Wellington and instructed him to get the work carried out, as he had done in the past. The solicitor, thinking the notice referred to another property which hao! heen .attended to, put the notice on ono side and forgot all .ibout it. The magistrate said owners of land should realise their responsibilities If, I they have to depend on agents and the j agents fail, thes, should' make the agents I pay the fine. . Defendant was fined £25 j and costs. ...
