CHILD DIES FROM BURNS.

♦ J MATCHES STRUCK IN PLAY. An inquest was held by Mr. J. W. , Poynton, S.M., last evening, concerning , the death of a two year-old child, Charles , Graham, whose parents reside in Arnold Street, off New North Eoad. The boy , was admitted to the Auckland Hospital last Thursday suffering from burns, and [ died yesterday. The evidence showed that [ the child had been playing with matches . and apparently struck them. His clothes caught fire, and were almost burned off : ho 'using severely burned. The coroner , returned a verdict of death from shock i following burns.
