COALMINES DISPUTE.
„ «g* THE KAITANGATA TROUBLE. EMPLOYEES DETERMINED. « TRIBUNAL MAY NOT SIT. [BY TEEEGEAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATIOS.] WELLKGTOK, Monday. A fresh development has occurred in the mining dispute. Some days ago a difficulty arose at the Kaitangafci coalmine between the mineowners and the Miners' Union. The latter made a demand upon the company that it should be responsible for the collection of certain debts owing to the union. The employera declined to undertake responsibility in the matter, which was purely a union one. . . It is stated the employers will insist that until the difficulty is settled they will not allow their representatives to appear at the sitting of the committee which has been set up to inquire into the alleged victimisation of Henderson. They cansider that since the committee was set up for tha specific purpose of discussing the Blackball dispute the committee is not concerned with the dispute at Kaitangata. The sitting of the committee is dependent upon the stipulation in the agreement arrived at before the Prime Minister that operations should be continued for at least a week before the meeting is called. From advice received in Wellington it appears that normal output has been resumed at all coalmines except Kaitangata.
