AUSTRALIAN PREMIERSHIP.
o< MR. E. D. MILLEN RETURNING. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Jan. 18. Mr. E. D. Millen, Federal Minister for Repatriation, proposes to catch the Orontes, leaving London on February 19, if berths can be obtained, and if not, he will take the next boat available. An interchange of cablegrams has taken place between Mr. Millen and Mr. Hughes concerning the Acting-Premiership of Australia during Mr. Hughes' absence at the Imperial Conference. It is understood that Mr. Millen's financial negotiations have been progressing satisfactorily. A Commonwealth loan is practically assured, and the Commonwealth's floating debt of £40,000,000 to the Imperial Government will'probably be funded.
