THE SOUTHERN TOUR. The Auckland representative cricket team will lea-re for Christchurch this evening to play Canterbury for the Plunket Shield at. the week end. The team will he the earno as that which played asrainst Hawke's Bar with two exceptions. W. Garrard will be the wicket-keeper in place of Rowntree. who is unable to make -the trip, and H. B. Two cricket supporters have decided to give a bat to C. A. Snedden in recognition of his performances in the Hawke's Bay match, which was his initial eSort in Plunket Shield matches. A cricket match was played here to-day between the Tauranga and Rotorua team*, and was won by the latter by 223 runs to 194. Burton took four wickets for 110 runs, McVicar three for 71. Pegler two for 18. Manawatu replied with 150 runs (Rcse 37, McVicar 25 not out, Law 25. Green 18). Holland took eight wickets for 63 runs, and Johnson two for 25. The match will be resumed to- ! morrow.
