Sir John Macfarland. Chancellor of ' Melbourne University, is visiting New I Zealand, for the purpose of trout fishing ! in the Cold Lakes, Mr. W. Gray, principal of the Presbyi terian College. Melbourne, and formerly I principal of the Wellington Training College, is on a visit to the Dominion. Mr. J. Matdonold, Assistant-General Manager of the New Zealand Railway, and Mrs. Macdonald, are visiting Au<k land. Thev are staging at the Central Hotel. Mr. H. Preston Stark, of the Bar.', of New South Wales, Sydney, arrived from I Wellington by the express yesterday. Mi. Stark is on a business tour of the l>u minion. Dem Fitchett. of Dunedin. ha? b*'n appointed bishop's commissary during im* absence in England of Dr. Richard*. Anplican Rishop of Dunedi,; Rishup Richards will return about August.
